Emily's first paper from her MSc thesis Evidence for energetic particle precipitation and quasi-biennial oscillation modulations of the Antarctic NO2 springtime stratospheric column from OMI observations became the most downloaded paper in the last 12 months in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics. The paper used observations from several satellite instruments, including from NASA's EOS-Aura. NASA story about Emily's paper can be found here.
Emily Gordon finished her MSc, congratulations! Emily's thesis Observational Evidence for the Modulation of Antarctic Springtime Ozone Depletion by Energetic Particle Precipitation is available from here. Having won a Fullbright award she will now head to the Colorado State University to continue onto a PhD.
Dr Maxime Grandin from the Vlasiator group at University of Helsinki visited the Physics Deapartment 8-17 October, 2018.
Annika visited the Middle atmosphere research group at Finnish Meteorological Institute 27-31 August 2018. The collaboration visit focused around Energetic Particle impact on mesospheric ozone and following dynammical signals from climate simulations. Annika also visited the Vlasiator research group at University of Helsinki to discuss future collaboration on particle precipitation.
