Craig Rodger visiting Cape Agulhas, Africa's
southern-most point, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. The
visit took place during the
Workshop on Energetic Electron Radiation Belt Dynamics (March
2005), hosted by the Hermanus Magnetic Observatory,
South Africa. The name is a apparently a corruption from Portuguese
for "needle", as these early explorers found this Cape was located at
zero magnetic declination. |
